The Next 50 Years

For the past 50 years, Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) has been a vital presence in Greater Boston and beyond, empowering Asians and new immigrants to build healthy families, achieve greater economic success, and contribute to thriving communities.

Our Mission is to ensure that the children, youth, and families we serve have the resources and supports they need to achieve greater economic success and social well-being.

2018– 2022 Strategic Priorities:

Protect the Cultural Vitality of Chinatown

  • Establish the Pao Arts Center, an arts and cultural center that promotes the cultural identity and visibility of Chinatown while enriching Boston’s arts sector.

  • Provide families with access to cultural resources that strengthen family and community relationships in a changing environment.

  • Lead a cross-sector collaborative effort that supports artists and honors the history and character of Chinatown.

Support Immigrant Families in Quincy

  • Serve more immigrant families in the South Shore through new lines of service and widened outreach.

  • Expand coordination of the local social services safety net for immigrant families by collaborating more deeply with other organizations and institutions on the South Shore.

  • Improve accessibility of BCNC Quincy location by redesigning office and program spaces.

Increase Access to Civic Engagement

  • Facilitate empowerment through opportunities to participate in policy discussions at the community level and beyond.

  • Work strategically in coalition with other communities to ensure public resources and programs are implemented in a manner that is equitable to all people.

  • Contribute to the body of academic and popular knowledge about the specific needs, challenges, and opportunities faced by the families we serve.

Becoming A Monthly Donor

Supporting immigrant families is not a one-time event—BCNC relies on the generosity of supporters like you every day of the year to ensure that our programs can continue. Becoming a monthly donor is an easy, convenient way to support life-changing programs for children, youth, and families year-round. Are you in?

Benefits to becoming a monthly donor?

  • It’s convenientEnter your donation once and your gift will be automatically charged to your credit card or debited to your checking account at the beginning of the month - no hassle, no fuss!

  • More updates – BCNC will spend less time asking for donations and more time giving you updates on our work.

  • It can be changed at any time – Contact Ally Ang (857-415-5964) at any time to change your support or modify your method of payment.

  • Greater impact – BCNC costs are lower as we receive monthly support, so more can be dedicated to programs to empower immigrant families.
